BodyTalk Modules 1 & 2 Course Descriptions

BodyTalk Module 1

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the BodyTalk System and presents the first half of the powerful treatment techniques that form the basis of the system. This course consists of theoretical aspects as well as hands on practical components. At the completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • locate energy circuit imbalances using the modified muscle testing technique;
  • provide clients with clear instructions on how to breathe during the balancing technique;
  • demonstrate proper hand placement for the tapping technique;
  • demonstrate proper hand placement for the energy points on the body over organs, endocrine gland and other body parts;
  • demonstrate the appropriate treatments for clearing energy blockages associated with birthplace or imbalances with the local environment, energy faults within the main brain cortices, general and localized hydration and health problems associated with internal and external scarring;
  • demonstrate the correction of hereditary and/or environmentally influenced cell disorders;
  • demonstrate the technique for clearing the body of viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi, food intolerances, environmental allergies and accumulated toxins;
  • demonstrate the active memory release technique for clearing past and present emotional blockages arising from specific events, beliefs, fears and phobias.

Module 1 is a pre-requisite to Module 2. It is suitable for health care professionals as well as lay people who may want to learn the BodyTalk System and use it at a non-professional level with family and friends.

BodyTalk Module 2

This course builds on the knowledge gained in BodyTalk Module 1 and expands the treatment techniques to include the entire base BodyTalk System. Both the theory and the practical aspects of the BodyTalk treatment techniques are covered in this course. At the completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • identify and balance the 36 extrinsic reciprocals (energy points that often impact a person's energy level, mood, overall structural integrity, muscle tension, digestive system and pain level);
  • demonstrate the technique for energetically stimulating the lymphatic system;
  • apply the tapping technique to imbalances in the nervous and circulatory systems;
  • balance the traditional acupuncture meridians and the chakra system;
  • identify and balance the client to environmental influences;
  • demonstrate the balancing technique for specific aspects of the brain.

Module 2 is a pre-requisite for advanced BodyTalk training.

Sylvia's Approach to BodyTalk Module 1 and 2 Trainings

Sylvia's approach to teaching Modules 1 & 2 is to provide students with a good balance between lecturing on theory/techniques, observing instructor BodyTalk demonstrations, and practicing on other participants. The goal is to ensure that participants leave the training with a sound grasp of the fundamentals of BodyTalk, with the tools and confidence to immediately begin working on others. The student testimonials lower on this page will give insight into Sylvia's effectiveness as an instructor.

Once a class has ended, Sylvia offers ongoing support to her students. Students are encouraged to send emails when they encounter learning or clinical challenges or require some business-related advice; phone consultations can also be arranged. When Sylvia is in Calgary, she usually responds within a day.

Modules 1 & 2 trainings are usually held for either four consecutive days from 9am to 6pm (e.g., Saturday to Tuesday from 9am-6pm) or for four and a half consecutive days (e.g., Friday evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Since many people who attend the courses have other responsibilities during the week, the Modules 1 & 2 trainings generally incorporate a weekend to minimize the amount of weekday time. However, if a group with special needs asks Sylvia to provide Modules 1 and 2 trainings in their area, she will assess the options with the group to decide which days would work best. Factors such as the number of participants and the situation, as well as instructor travel and training venue costs, will be considered.

People who have not taken Module 1 with Sylvia but want to register for her Module 2 training must have completed Module 1 with another certified instructor.

People who have previously completed Module 1 or 2 trainings with Sylvia or other Certified BodyTalk Instructors are welcome to audit.

Class sizes will be limited, so register early to avoid disappointment. Click here to register.

Early Bird Registration

Sylvia offers incentives of discounted training fees (if persons register and pay in full by the posted early bird deadlines) to encourage people to sign up early. Knowing the number of participants well ahead of time facilitates planning and decision-making (e.g., related to venue selection, the ordering of training materials, arranging for massage tables) - particularly important when Sylvia has to travel long distances to her training destinations. That's why she rewards people who commit early with a fee discount.

Sometimes classes are full by the early bird deadline, so even auditors/monitors may want to register early. In some cases where classroom space and/or student numbers are limiting factors, there may be a cut-off date after which auditors will no longer be accepted.

Also, for people who require accommodations during the trainings, it is a good idea to book at least a month ahead to ensure that a room is set aside for you.

Note: In exceptional circumstances, the early bird deadline may be extended for some trainings. Please enquire with the coordinator.
